Spring1883 brings fresh energy to the traditional art fair model, transforming the historic Windsor Hotel into an immersive, intimate setting where artists, gallerists, and audiences connect in new ways. Leading contemporary galleries occupy suites throughout the hotel’s storied corridors, creating unexpected encounters and moments of discovery.
As part of MAGMA Galleries’ presentation, Drez exhibited two new sculptural works that continue his exploration of colour, movement, and perception. Each piece is the result of a meticulous process: colours are hand-mixed and applied in carefully painted gradients, while the placement and curvature of the poles are deliberately constructed to generate moiré patterns and shifting colour interactions. In these works, precision and intuition converge, inviting viewers to experience the dissolution of boundaries between object and observer.
