Drez transformed nine salvaged metal caps, once the tops of exhaust vents, into a unified visual composition, breathing new life into these industrial remnants through his signature pulse motif. Reminiscent of the layered history of 47 Easey Street, Ninth Movement carries echoes of the past, both architectural and cultural. Drez honours this resonance while propelling it forward into a vivid, contemporary expression.

Hand-mixed colours flow seamlessly across the nine forms, each a fragment of a larger whole. Presented in a 3×3 grid, the installation bridges separation and cohesion: though distinct, each metal cap contributes to a single, cohesive image. At the centre, pale whites, soft greens, and luminous yellows bloom outward into warm oranges and deep reds, finally settling into rich purples along the edges. The gradient evokes transience and the ephemeral nature of change.

Through the interplay of colour, form, and motion, Drez reanimates these forgotten objects turning remnants into resonances, and capturing the echoes of place, memory, and transformation.
